ScriptedEssentials V3.0

Latest

Updating

Replace your old ScriptedEssentials jar with it, and restart. This update needs the new jar, as I switched licensing system.

New

  • PlayerReplay/MOCAP Feature. /replay records players and plays them back as NPCs.
  • Shroud/Stone Cover. It hides your world from players you don't trust by showing them stone. Operators and trusted players see the real world.
  • /se is now a menu with categories, search, support and admin tools. /se support gives you the Discord link, even if your licence is having problems.
  • Marches. /march sends a group of NPCs across the map in formation, walking or sprinting, and turns corners like a real parade. It's all set up from a menu.
  • Stage queues. /queue lets players join at a mannequin and get let in one at a time, across worlds if you want, with commands that run as they go in.
  • /cycle sends fake joins, leaves, deaths or NPC spawns within a certain amount of time.
  • The mod checker. /modcheck finds blocked client mods when people join: world downloaders, Replay Mod, Flashback, Freecam, Meteor, Bobby, Distant Horizons and more.
  • /limit sets view distance (down to a single chunk), simulation distance and how far apart players can see each other, for everyone who isn't an operator. Players with Bobby or Distant Horizons get kicked while a view limit is on, since those mods can see past it.
  • /coords hide takes coordinates out of F3.
  • /maxplayers locks the server once enough players are on.
  • Chunk bans follow the item, survive restarts, and /chunkban can list and clear them.
  • Join and leave message radius, so only nearby players see them.

Orbital rods

  • Everything now goes through one /orbital menu.
  • New rods: Wither Cannon, Railgun (bow or crossbow), Arrow Stab, Arrow Volley, Lightning Cannon, Void Hook, Command Rod and Group Pearl.
  • The Pearl Cannon: pearls thrown inside a pearl cannon area disappear, and whoever threw them lands at the spot you set after a delay that is set.
  • Stasis rods and totems can pull named players or everyone nearby, and can go instantly or after a delay.

Kits

  • Making and editing kits happens in dialog screens.
  • Randomized kits have separate settings for armour and for tools and weapons.
  • New Copy Kit button.
  • Renaming a kit keeps its cooldowns, settings and permission.
  • You can't overwrite someone else's kit with /kit save.
  • Kit cost has been removed.

Teams

  • Team settings are in windows instead of chest guis.
  • Teams can be open, so players can join and leave themselves, and can have a member limit.
  • /team split splits players into 2, 3 or 4 teams. /team add and remove work on offline players.
  • Players are told when their team changes, can see their own team glow, and deleting a team asks first.
  • Team colours no longer wipe sidebars or other plugins' scoreboards.

NPCs

  • Bare /npc opens a hub menu.
  • Recordings now capture bow shots, swings, held items, shields and eating.
  • Wandering NPCs move and look around like players: they jump gaps, climb slabs and stairs, and stop getting stuck on walls.
  • NPCs take knockback and damage from mobs and explosions properly, and show fire when burning.
  • /npc editall can set skins and protection for lots of NPCs at once, and /npc group rename was added.
  • Copy and paste keeps an NPC's group, and you can use colour codes in NPC names.
  • NPCs spawn properly on versions above 1.21.11.
  • NPCs can chase or flee from a player, walking, running or sprint-jumping. Chasing NPCs hit with whatever weapon they're holding, and fleeing ones swing back if caught.
  • The NPC editor is now dialog pages, with separate pages for appearance, combat, actions, movement, kit and group.
  • /cycle spawn: NPCs wander off in random directions.

Nicknames and skins

  • Random nicknames come from a pool of real players, never hand out your own players' or ops' names, and skip offensive ones.
  • Random nickname pool has gone up from ~5,000 to ~60,000.
  • Random nicknames work straight after a restart.
  • /nick pool adds, removes and checks names in that pool.
  • /nicklist shows offline nicked players.

Menus everywhere

These are now dialog screens instead of chest guis or chat prompts: /ondeath (with a searchable sound picker), the villager editor, /sefeatures, /seperm, the warp list, inventory rollback (now with a confirm step), recording borders, queues, marches and /limit, and more have been done and more are to come!

Other changes

  • Turning a feature off or on takes effect straight away, commands included, and /se reload reloads everything without a restart.
  • Vanished players stay vanished through restarts and are hidden from every message command and from nicknames. scriptedessentials.vanish.see lets staff see them.
  • Keep-invis and /disablemsg are remembered across relogs and restarts.
  • Private messages are blocked while chat is muted, unless you have the bypass.
  • The death message radius also covers fake deaths and NPC deaths.
  • Sign alerts go to everyone with the sign alerts permission, not just ops.
  • /randomfill scatters items across part of a container instead of filling every slot.
  • Recording borders are enforced by the server, so pearls and boats can't get people out.
  • Voice chat commands are under one /vc command.
  • Premium imports Lite's kits, warps and settings on first start, and Lite turns itself off if Premium is installed.
  • /se activate with no key opens a window to paste your key into, and licence errors tell you what's wrong.
  • The plugin folder has been tidied into players, nicks, settings and server folders. Your files are moved over automatically.
  • Toggles like /pvp and /chatmute are saved in server/system.json instead of config.yml, and new config options get added to your existing file instead of replacing it.
  • messages.yml has been removed.

Removed

  • /fperms aliases, the lag nuke, the chunk eater and the old one-command-per-rod commands.
  • /nick blacklist (the built-in name filter covers it).

Fixes

  • Corrupt or half-written files are kept as backups instead of being wiped, and saves are written safely, so a crash can't remove your kits, warps, NPCs or teams.
  • Recording mode no longer blocks fake join, leave and chat messages.
  • The inventory lock no longer blocks buckets, boats and minecarts.
  • Half-heart armour wear no longer eats elytra durability.
  • Teams keep working when members are nicked.
  • Vanished players' deaths, joins and leaves stay hidden.
  • A lot of saving and lookup work moved off the main thread, so there's less lag.
  • Plus many smaller fixes across kits, queues, marches, rollback and dialogs.
